Adhering to current Government guidelines regarding Covid-19 measures. Even during the Covid-19 period, there are still a number of local venues available to host a funeral or memorial celebration of life. We will work with you to find the best location to help honour the life of your loved one in a manner and setting most befitting them.

VENUES AVAILABLE

Bunurong Memorial Park, set within contemporary Australian parkland and conveniently located midway between Melbourne and Mornington Peninsula, provides state-of-the-art function spaces for honouring and remembering your loved ones.

 

This purpose built, unique facility offers several non-denominational chapels where secular and non-secular services can be conducted with large private areas attached for families and friends to unite and share experiences over refreshments. Bunurong is an inspiring place of remembrance, designed to meet the needs of the community now and into the future.

The Peacock Estate
Chapel and Grounds

Situated in Tyabb just 15 mins from Mornington and close to Westernport Bay, The Peacock Estate is a unique venue shaped with nostalgia and crafted with rustic charm.

 

The Peacock Estate’s historical church was built in 1914 and features original pre-WW1 pressed tin walls. The stained-glass windows, original wooden floors and altar are just a few of the features in this stunning venue which is brimming with rustic appeal, history and charm.

The property has many features including an outdoor bar and food service area making this venue ideal for catering during Covid 19 restrictions.

White Chapel
Estate

White Chapel Estate is situated on a 4 acre estate in delightful tranquil formal gardens and bushland. 

The beautiful white weatherboard chapel is 150 years old, has been lovingly restored to its former glory and is the perfect setting for family and friends to contemplate the life of their loved one in a peaceful, private & natural setting. 

The chapel will hold approx 20 people under the current Covid-19 restrictions. Alternatively, there is a beautiful gazebo if an outdoor service is preferred, with seating for 10 people and standing capacity over that for another 10. 

The venue has ample car parking facilities and can arrange catering including alcoholic beverages.

Rosebud Italian Club

Rosebud Italian Club is an ideal venue for large funerals. 

 

The club was established in 1984, for the benefit of its members but also welcoming all guests. Indoors, the club can easily accommodate attendees with chairs spaced to meet whatever Social Distancing rules are in place.

 

With a pleasant atmosphere and plenty of parking, it's a suitable local setting to farewell a loved one – especially during these difficult times.

Safety Beach Sailing Club

The new facilities at Safety Beach Sailing Club are among the best on the bay. The clubhouse is right on the foreshore with 180 degree views of the surrounding mountains of Arthur’s Seat and Mt Martha. Recent redevelopment works have increased the comfort aspects of this highly sought after venue which make it the perfect location for a celebration of life service.

 

Safety Beach Sailing Club is very well equipped to host funerals for meaningful farewells in familiar settings – ideal for beach and bay lovers alike.

 

Live Streaming and DVD recording of funerals held at Safety Beach Sailing Club provide family and friends who cannot attend the service, the opportunity to experience the event in this beautiful setting.

Bayview Chapel Rosebud

The Bayview Chapel in Rosebud is an ideal venue for funerals in our region during this time.

 

The chapel has excellent sound and visual display facilities, including the ability to create a DVD recording of your service. The auditorium and multi-purpose foyer are fully air-conditioned and wheelchair accessible. A hearing loop is available for those requiring assistance. 

 

Bayview Church is located at 1 Inglewood Crescent, Rosebud. There is plenty of onsite parking.

The Garden Chapel at Dalywaters

Dalywaters, set on 12 acres in Mornington, has a charming chapel made from white painted weatherboards, bearing forty five climbing white roses and surrounded by sixty ornamental pear trees and grape vines.

The chapel overlooks a wetland area and it is approached through old iron gates and a vine-covered walk.

The chapel is open to the gardens and wetland areas but on wet days clear blinds provide shelter without losing the beautiful views of the gardens.

Springvale Botanical Cemetery

The world-class Springvale Botanical Cemetery is widely regarded as Australia’s most beautiful cemetery, with 169 hectares (422 acres) of landscaped gardens. This facility offers a range of cremation, burial and mausoleam options to suit all personal, cultural and religious preferences with special areas to meet the needs of Melbourne's diverse and multicultural community.

 

Established in 1901, Springvale Botanical Cemetery has continued to offer generations a peaceful and private setting to celebrate the life of loved ones. The Southern Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust (SMCT) is a community based, not-for-profit organisation, committed to serving the needs of our communities.

The Chapel at Tanglewood Estate

Nestled deep within the age old eucalyptus trees of Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, Tanglewood Estate is a gorgeous secret garden, set on more than 100 acres of bushland situated within the scenic landscape of Merricks North.

 

The relocated and renovated historic 110 year old wooden chapel, nestled among the trees, looks out over Port Phillip Bay. With Covid restrictions, the Chapel can accommodate 24 attendees at a funeral.

The Tanglewood Estate Chapel is a beautiful venue for a peaceful and memorable end of life service for your loved one.

Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron

Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron is the perfect venue on the Southern Peninsula – for holding a dignified farewell – particularly during Covid-19 restrictions. 

 

BYS can accommodate funeral attendees indoors and outdoors. 

 

For families wishing to share their loved one's service online by utilising Live Streaming, this beautiful venue provides a suitable backdrop for a fitting tribute to anyone who has a love for the Mornington Peninsula, and most particularly for those with an affinity for the bay.

The New Atrium

Located in the hinterland of Safety Beach, surrounded by palm trees and overlooking a picturesque golf course, the New Atrium has two function rooms with seating placements according to Government guidelines. 

 

With plenty of parking, it's a suitable local setting to farewell a loved one – especially during these difficult times

OTHER VENUES OPTIONS

Dromana Bowls Club is our most local venue for small family funerals.

 

The club rooms can accommodate up to 20 attendees with chairs spaced to meet current Social Distancing rules or 90 under ‘normal’ circumstances.
With a pleasant atmosphere, plenty of parking and bay views, it's an ideal alternative setting to farewell a loved one. Video recordings and live streaming available.

Mornington Civic Bowls Club

Situated in the heart of the peninsula, Mornington Civic Bowls & Social Club is particularly favoured by its superb location set in picturesque gardens away from the madding crowd.

The Clubhouse is available for funerals and can accommodate around 250 people with ample parking available. 

 

There is a commercial kitchen and licenced bar facilities.

Mornington Racecourse 

Located less than one hour’s drive from Melbourne, the Mornington Racecourse is easily accessible from all major freeways and offers an abundance of free parking on site.
With the capacity to hold more than 800 people for an indoor funeral, and many more outdoors, the Mornington Racecourse is the Peninsula’s most versatile space for large gatherings.

The Ranelagh Club

Located off a quiet street in leafy Mt Eliza, The Ranelagh Club is the ideal "midway point" to cater for family and friends travelling from both Melbourne and the Southern Peninsula.  The function room is perched high on the cliff, above a very isolated and private beach, featuring panoramic views across Port Phillip Bay and city skyline. 

 

The venue has the capacity to usually hold 150 people and can be hired for an entire funeral with catering options to follow, or simply as a wake venue following your church/ chapel service. 

 

Funerals, wakes & memorial services are a very difficult time for family and friends. The desire to farewell a loved one with dignity and grace is priority number one, and organising a wake or life celebration is not often top of mind.

Flinders Yacht Club

With a stunning beach front location, private road access and ample car parking, Flinders Yacht club is the perfect location for beautiful family farewell ceremonies.

New Peninsula Baptist Church

With the ability to hold a large number of attendees, this church is a perfect venue for very large funerals.
