The Chapel

The beautiful, historic 110 year old wooden chapel at Tanglewood was relocated to the site and has been lovingly restored and rebuilt.

The large chapel windows look out to a beautiful view of the bay.

The Chapel is unheated so if you are attending a funeral at Tanglewood during the colder months, please be sure to dress appropriately.

Getting there

Tanglewood estate can be tricky to reach, so please inform your family and friends attending a funeral service that they will need to approach via: Balnarring RdFoxeys RdBulldog Creek Rd (unsealed).

About 900m along Bulldog Creek Rd you’ll see an unmarked open gate at the driveway which leads to the chapel.

Our white Honda should be at that first gate, however if you arrive before we are in situ, there should be a small ‘FUNERAL HERE TODAY’ sign near the gate. If you reach the gate marked ‘Tanglewood’, you’ve gone too far.

Some maps guide people to use other routes which will cause frustrations and lengthy delays.

Refreshments

You are welcome to BYO caterers to Tanglewood to allow your family and friends to gather for nourishment following the funeral. The rustic studio adjacent to the carpark offers a unique relaxed atmosphere in which to catch up with loved ones and reminisce.

Larger Gatherings

Tanglewood Barn compliments the feel of the old chapel and can hold up to 200 guests – depending upon restrictions and social distancing.
